Canopy Care and Maintenance ABC's - Part Three
Transportation and Storage Bags
Transporting your canopy is easy if you use carrying bags as it will easily store the canopy and frame as well as provide additional protection when transporting to prevent tearing. Proper storage helps ensure the longevity of the fabric’s shape, protects the canopy from possible damage caused by any issues in the storage conditions, as well as ensuring that the logo on the canopy remains clean until you need the canopy again. You will need the proper carrying bag for your canopy model and type so that it will fit properly as not all carrying bags fit all canopies.
Most custom tents will fit multiple canopy bags giving you multiple options. You generally will have the option of hard-shelled or soft-shelled models, and might even have the option of a roller bag depending on your model. Some models of canopy sell with the canopy bag included so you will want to check that out when buying your canopy, our canopies and custom printed tents come with a heavy duty travel bag on wheels. Another consideration is to make sure that you can easily fit the canopy in the space you have available by checking the dimensions of the folded canopy compared to what you will be using to transport it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I use to clean my logo canopy? Is there anything I shouldn’t use to clean my canopy?
To clean any of our offered custom tents simply use warm water and soap, preferably a nonabrasive soap or laundry detergent as this will ensure that the canopy is cleaned. You should not use bleach when cleaning your canopy as this will result in the logo on the canopy possible become discolored.
Is there anything I can do to increase the longevity of my canopy?
There are a few things that you can do to increase the longevity of your custom canopy. These include using nonabrasive soap or laundry detergent when washing the canopy as it will ensure that colors in the logo on the canopy remain looking like new for as long as possible. You will also want to completely dry the canopy before storing it after washing to ensure that mold and mildew do not destroy the canopy.
Is there anything I can do to the frame to ensure that I can use my tent remains in working condition?
You can wash the frame to remove any dirt or grime as well as tighten the screws on the frame, though be careful not to over tighten. You can also apply a silicon sealant to the frame after and before every use so that the metal of the frame is in good working order as well as protected from the elements. Do not let your frame stand in water or remain wet after washing as that will encourage rust.
Is there anything I can do to increase or maintain canopy stability?
Using weight bags or gravity tubes are a great way to increase any of our custom tents’ stability. Also tightening screws before and after each use of the canopy will ensure that the tent is stable but be careful not to over tighten as that will strip the screws and result in a decline in stability.
What is the best weather for my canopy to be used in?
The best weather for any of our custom tents to be used in is sunny weather with little to no wind. Wind decreases the stability of the tent as well as in some cases is strong enough to flip the tent completely. Rain can cause damage to the frame and canopy so is not recommended conditions. Due to the metal in the frame it is recommended that you seek other shelter during lightning storms. Do not use your canopy in extreme weather conditions, as it is not a solid shelter that can offer you adequate protection, instead pack away the canopy and seek permanent shelter should the need arise.
Do I need to replace the whole canopy if there is a rip or tear in it?
The whole canopy of any of our custom tents does not need to be replaced if there is a small rip or tear, though you will want to handle such an occurrence quickly as the rip can widen. The use of a seam sealer can repair small rips or tears and also ensures that the logo on the canopy remains intact. Patches can be used for larger rips or tears but have the possibility of disrupting the logo on the canopy. If the rip does widen to the point that a seam sealer or patch cannot fix it, replacing the canopy would be the only way to fix it that is why it is important to handle such incidents as quickly as possible.
